A meeting was held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at the Holden Senior Center in order to introduce Hardcore Shotcrete Skateparks Inc. and to get as much public input as possible.
Mark, a landscape architect from Hardcore Design Studios, presented a Powerpoint presentation which highlighted the company’s history, the staff, featured projects and an overview of the design process and construction.
A question was asked by the general public where the park was to be built and what the size was expected to be. Denise said the Eagle Lake area was the preferred site and it would be roughly 10,000 square feet in size.
A questionnaire was filled out by the general public attending the meeting regarding the type of skateboard park they were looking to have built. These ideas will be used by the design team to develop the design for the Holden park.
Three different sample designs were presented and a group discussion was held. Pros and cons for each of the designs were listed, and this information will also be used in the final Holden Park design.
Another meeting will be held in approximately 4 weeks with two designs being presented from the information gathered.
Meeting adjourned 7:15 p.m. Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 5:30pm in the Selectman’s Room at the Starbard Building.
